Mescal Picnic Area Description
Mescal Picnic Area is located near Jackson Lake, west of the town of Wrightwood. The Mescal Picnic Area is unique because it is hidden from the highway, and is accessed by a wood bridge which navigates through thick vegetation and trees to the actual picnic area. Mescal Picnic Area has 9 picnic tables and 4 stoves. It also has restrooms and running water.
Directions to Mescal Picnic Area from Wrightwood
Take Highway 2 westbound from the town of Wrightwood to the Big Pines Area near Mt High's West Resort. From here, take Big Pines Highway (downhill) toward Jackson Lake. The Mescal Picnic Area will have a turnout along the right side of the road, before you get to Jackson Lake. Be sure to display a National Forest Adventure Pass in the windshield of your vehicle.
